# docs insights

> answer product questions live from your own docs, with source links

docs insights turns your product docs into live, cited answers during a meeting. it is a dedicated insights tab, alongside standard, meddpicc, training, and questions.

switch to it with `⌘5` on macos.

## how it works

* as the conversation moves, miniti keeps an **updating list of topics** it hears - short subjects like "sso / saml support" or "data retention limits".
* each topic is **looked up in your own product docs** and answered in a sentence or two, with **links back to the source page**.
* answers are **grounded only in your docs**. miniti never invents product facts. if your docs don't cover a topic, it shows no answer for that topic and says so.

## setup

docs insights needs a docs mcp url. add one in settings, then open the docs tab in a meeting. see [docs mcp](/docs/integrations/docs-mcp) for the full setup and compatible docs.

## looking up a topic

* on **pro** and **byok**, topics are looked up automatically as they appear.
* on the **free** tier, tap a topic to look it up. free plans include 10 docs lookups per month - see [docs lookups](/docs/pricing/what-counts-as-a-minute#docs-lookups).
* building the topic list is always free and never counts as a lookup.

each answered topic shows the answer with its source links and a **copy** button. if a topic can't be answered right now because the docs service is busy, it shows a **try again** option - tap to retry (this doesn't use a lookup).

## live vs saved

* **live** - topics and answers appear during recording.
* **saved** - open a saved meeting's docs tab to refresh topics or look one up, using the saved transcript.

<Note>
  answers and their source links come only from the docs you connect. keep your mcp url pointed at docs you trust.
</Note>

## notes

* docs insights is available on macos and ios.
* if your docs don't cover a topic, miniti shows no answer rather than guessing.
