# questions mode

> ai-generated incisive questions to ask during or after a meeting

questions mode generates specific, context-grounded questions to ask during or after a meeting. each question references something said in the conversation and explains why it matters.

switch to questions mode with `⌘4` (macos) or the questions tab (ios).

## types

| type      | what it does                                               |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| deeper    | follow a thread that was mentioned but not explored        |
| challenge | surface a tension or contradiction between two things said |
| reframe   | question the premise, not the conclusion                   |
| clarify   | pin down something vague or ambiguous                      |
| explore   | open territory the conversation hasn't touched but should  |
| follow-up | turn understanding into action                             |

## live notifications (opt-in)

turn on **notify me about incisive questions** in settings to get a system notification when the ai flags a high-priority question while recording.

* fires only when the app is in the **background**
* rate-limited to **one every 2 minutes**
* ios users: requires notification permission

## where questions appear

* **live** - in the questions pane during a recording
* **saved meetings** - viewable and regeneratable from history on macos and ios
* **webhooks** - included in the webhook payload on `meeting.saved` and `meeting.updated` (see [webhooks](/docs/integrations/webhooks))
* **markdown export** - included when you copy/export the full meeting
